Wooden Garden Fencing

Wooden garden fencing is usually chosen instead of metal and plastic garden fencing because of the natural look and appeal of wood.  It fits in very nicely if your garden has trees and can always be painted to match any color scheme.  Wood is also very strong and there are styles of wooden garden fencing available that will fit any of the security needs of the average household.

There are also a number of designs that are unique to wooden garden fencing.  Wooden picket fencing is a classic choice and bamboo and willow garden fencing both have their own very unique looks.

Garden Picket Fence

A garden picket fence is a classic choice for garden fencing.  It is constructed with vertical wooden boards which are evenly spaced apart and held together usually by two horizontal boards, one connected across the upper portion of the vertical boards and one across the lower portion.

The popular color choice for the garden picket fence is white (white picket fence).  The white garden picket fence is a very popular choice because of it’s classic homely look that has been established from being used in home gardens for decades.

Today the garden picket fence has evolved from its original and simple construction from wooden boards.  There are so many varieties of the white garden picket fence today from the simple to the elaborate and even the plastic.  Although there are beautifully designed white garden picket fences available today, they all still maintain the basic form of the original garden picket fence.

Bamboo Garden Fencing

If you’re looking for a unique style of garden fencing, you may want to consider bamboo garden fencing.  Bamboo is very durable and has a great aesthetic appeal.  There are a number of bamboo garden fencing styles available.  The two main styles are a style where the bamboo is criss crossed and you can see through the fence and another style where the bamboo shoots are all standing vertically and lined up right next to each other with no visibility past the bamboo.

As mentioned already, bamboo is very durable and will last a long time, but if you are looking for a fence with any type of heavy duty purpose you probably do not want to use bamboo.  Some bamboo garden fencing is reinforced on the inside with wood but it is still primarily decorative garden fencing.
